Nosefrida
Cold and flu season is here again. This year I discovered a cold, flu, and allergy symptom reliever that really sucks – literally. The device is called Nosefrida. It is a nasal aspirator that allows you to control the amount of suction you use to expel mucous from your baby’s nose. The way you do this is by actually “sucking” on a tube that runs up into a cigar shaped nozzle that you place in the entry of your child’s nose.
Before you get completely grossed out take a moment to read my review and see why I think this is one of the greatest inventions of all time.
The Nosefrida is a doctor recommended nasal aspirator that was created by an ear, nose and throat specialist in Sweden. It is easy to use. Simply connect the nozzle to the hose which has a foam like filter on one end and a mouth piece on the other, place the nozzle against the opening of the child’s nose and gently suck into the tube. The mucous inside your child’s nose is quickly expelled into the tube. I can honestly tell you from experience that no matter how hard you suck and how snotty your child’s nose, there would be no way for the mucous to make its way to your mouth. Most of it stays right up in the top of the nozzle. The farthest it can get is the foam filter where it would be blocked completely. When the Nosefrida device is used correctly there is no way bacteria can transfer from the child to the user.
For added piece of mind, Nosefrida is BPA free and contains NO phthalates which have been linked to health risks when used in other baby items. The Nosefrida is also much safer and more comfortable to use than regular bulb syringe aspirators because you don’t actually put anything inside the nose. I noticed that both my children were less apprehensive the second time around when this was used on them.
Let’s be honest. There is nothing worse than a stuffed up child and a bulb syringe aspirator. They take many tries to get the mucous out and most of the time you give up and are still left with a miserable baby. The Nosefrida worked efficiently and effectively with both my 7 month old baby and my pre school child. Now if someone could create a contraption to get the little one to hold still for the process life would be much easier.
Sarah and Kaisa of Nosefrida have a hidden gem in this product. I’m so glad I could uncover it here for you. After using the Nosefrida I know it will be a gift I give to all new moms in my life. I think everyone should have one in their medicine cabinet. You can learn more about the Nosefrida by visiting www.nosefrida.com
