I’m not an organized person so it is safe to say that neither is my 3 year old son. When the My Week Calendar by 2Fish Kids arrived at my doorstep I was skeptical, but not because of the product itself. I was skeptical of whether or not my son would use it.

I cleared off the numerous pieces of artwork from my fridge because My Week is a magnet and got to work punching out the smaller magnets (58 to be exact). These magnets have pictures such as Dentist, School, Play date and Church that your child can place on the assigned day of said activity. Along with the magnets is a dry erase marker so that you and your child can add special occasions as well.

Immediately my son was drawn to the colorful calendar. He began setting up his week with events such as swim (it’s cold out), synagogue (we attend church), Easter (it’s October)and other activities that were impossible but so hard to resist because the My Week character is just so darn cute. The point is he was having fun and he was starting to understand a schedule. The feature that really caught his attention was the Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday magnets. Every morning he wakes up and the first thing he does is change his magnets around to reflect the appropriate days. The dry erase aspect is also a favorite. He loves to write on each day, erase it all and then start all over again.

The My Week Calendar is a huge hit in our house. At the present time it isn’t being used for actual scheduling but it is a great form of entertainment and I believe that he will grow to use it in the appropriate manner.
