The Easter Basket

The Easter Basket

Oh the sweet memories of Easter Baskets from my childhood! The treats, the chocolates, the candies, the cavities… It’s not super practical to put healthy treats like apples and carrots in your child’s Easter Basket, unless they are dressed up like a bunny of course. We have found some sweet treats that are so fun that they won’t even realize that there isn’t sugar involved!

Looking for an Au Natural alternative to those boxed Easter Egg Dyes? We’ve found one that has results as gorgeous as they are simple! For all dyes (orange 2 tbsp paprika, blue 1 1/2 cups blueberries, pink 1 cup chopped fresh beets and green 1 cup blueberries and 2 tbsp turmeric) bring dye mixture (2 cups of water and 2 tbsp white vinegar along with your color choice ingredients) to a boil. Remove from heat and cool and strain liquid into a medium bowl. Submerge 4 to 6 hard-cooked eggs in dye for up to 30 minutes, depending on how deep you want the color to be. Remove the eggs from the dye and place them on a cooling rack to dry and drain. Store them in the fridge until ready to use.
