isABelt

December 30, 2008 by courtney · Leave a Comment

With manufacturers still making pants with a low enough rise to show a little skin, the trend is probably going to continue and us mommies who do a lot of bending and picking up are going to have to deal with the situation.  But, you will be happy to hear that a company came up with a solution called isABelt that is simple to use and clever as ever to stop those embarrassing moments of “show and tell” we’d rather not partake in.

There are so many times that I have bent over in public with one hand holding onto the back of my jeans and the other reaching for the toy that just fell out of the stroller.  Well, sometimes I don’t have the extra hand to hold onto the back of my jeans and “HELLO”, now everyone standing or walking behind me has had a shot of my pink lacey thong (on a good panty choice day).  I don’t know about you, but when I see undies popping out of pants, the first word that comes to mind is “tacky” and now I don’t have to worry again.

I’m pregnant right now and isABelt has saved me money because I’ve been able to expand the life of my jeans by popping the top button open and using the isABelt.  This will also be a lifesaver after I give birth to help me transition back into my pre-pregnancy weight.

isABelt comes in five sizes, including a Plus size that fits waists up to 50″ and a Junior size for girls 6/6x-12, which come in cute patterns for the trend setting teen.  Now women and girls everywhere can feel confident while wearing their favorite jeans and not having anymore of those embarrassing “bend over, show too much” moments.

Solana Swaddle Wraps

December 17, 2008 by courtney · Leave a Comment

As soon as I had this blanket in my hands, I got very excited to use it.  It is different than the swaddling blankets I’m use to.  The ones I’m use to using are made out of flannel cotton and only fit a newborn.  It’s tough to swaddle your baby past the first few months with the typical swaddling blankets you find on the shelves of Target or Walmart.

The blanket that was sent to me from Solana Babywear is called the Ashley Solana Swaddle Wrap and is made out of a beautiful eyelet gauze and trimmed in pink satin.  The blankets are a generous 45″x45″, so they will swaddle any sized baby up to 20 lbs and the fabric is lightweight and breathable, so baby won’t overheat, yet will sleep longer and better.

My baby is on her way (due next week) and I can’t wait to try out her new Solana Swaddle Wrap.  Luckily, every blanket comes with instructions because even though this is baby #3, a refresher course is always nice!

I wish I had had one of the Solana Baby Wraps when I lived in Southern California because we lived in an area where the summers were in the hundreds and I’ve always been a fan of swaddling.  Most of the time, I would swaddle my daughter and she would be wearing just a diaper or a short sleeve onesie so she wouldn’t overheat.  The Solana Swaddle Wrap would have been GREAT!

Baby Fish Mouth

I came across this line of t-shirts and thought they were so cute and unique that I actually started carrying them on my website.  Then, they just recently came out with a new slogan that I just had to share.  The brand is Baby Fish Mouth and I can’t get enough!

Baby Fish Mouth carries shirts and onesies for babies and toddlers that have movie inspired sayings like “I love the smell of baby powder in the morning” and “The first rule of daycare–don’t talk about daycare” that came from two friends love of film and the love of their children.  Baby Fish Mouth has just come out with a new slogan that is sure to be a hit amongst the hip moms that read this review blog!

The new addition is “May the formula be with you” and I think it is going to be their #1 seller!  I can’t wait to put my new baby girl in the long sleeve onesie with a cute pink cardigan sweater I got her and a pair of infant jeans.  Too cute!  Also, wait till you see how they package their t-shirts!  All their shirts come in a signature movie popcorn box.  This makes a great gift for a new baby or a shower gift.  You don’t even need to wrap the gift!

Be sure to check them out at www.babyfishmouth.com

Baby Fish Mouth is running a special on their new addition.  If you order before the end of December, you pay only $20 for “May the formula be with you”, enter code FREE08 and receive FREE SHIPPING!

Oscar the Pig

December 9, 2008 by courtney · Leave a Comment

With the downturn in the economy a lot of moms are having to go back to work to help support the family income.  Many children have had mom around since the day they were born and don’t know what it is like to be without.  For kids, this can be a scary time of transition and preparing them can help with the adjustment.

A new book, written by a mom named Megan Calhoun, emerged just in time for this economic crisis we are in to help explain to our children that when mom leaves, she is coming back.  This is what kids fear most when they are left with a caregiver and the fear is unbearable for some.  By preparing a child for this frightening time you are not only helping your child, but you are helping yourself prepare too.

Oscar the Pig is a great book for parents to read to their children to help both parties prepare for the changes that will take place when mom has to go back to work.  The story is about a little pig named Oscar who’s mommy has to go to work and the adventure Oscar has with his caregiver Mrs. Tutu while mommy is at work.

Not only is the story entertaining, the illustrations are divine!  You can purchase Oscar the Pig at www.oscarthepig.com.

Alef Bet Jewelry

December 4, 2008 by courtney · Leave a Comment

A close friend has just had a baby girl and you’d like to get something special that can be a keepsake for years to come.  Something that when the child gets older will be a reminder of the special day when they were brought into this world.  Well, look no further to find such a special gift because Alef Bet has beautiful jewelry for many special occasions.  They are your main source for sterling silver and 14k gold Judaic jewelry that will tickle your fancy, but you will find gifts for a baptism, baby gift, Bar or Bat Mitzvah Gift, birthday gift, Jewish wedding or bridal gift, Jewish conversion gift, or a “just because” gift, Alef Bet offers a vast selection.

I’m not Jewish, but there have been many times when I’ve been invited to a special occasion, by a Jewish friend, where something special would indeed have been appropriate and sincere and I would have loved to have known about Alef Bet.  Their selection is wonderful and and the products are fashion forward.  They not only carry items for children, but for anyone on your list and the prices are right on.

Alef Bet sent me a beautiful tiny pink pearl bracelet with a tiny heart charm on it to review that I’m planning to give to my new baby for her baptism.  The quality is exquisite and I can’t think of a more perfect gift for my baby girl. Thank you Alef Bet for sharing your sweet products with me!

Baby Capes

December 3, 2008 by courtney · Leave a Comment

We just moved from from sunny, hot California where the weather is still reaching the 80’s and 90’s to freezing cold Michigan where the snow has made an appearance and we are scrambling to find warm clothing to bear the change in climate.  If you took a look in our closets, you would cringe because our entire wardrobe is geared toward the hot climate of Southern California and we are in serious need of warm winter clothing.

This is where Baby Capes has become a savior for my little girls.  Baby Capes are not only cute, but super soft and cozy.  They come in a variety of luxurious, machine washable fabrics including Marshmallow Minky, Minky Sherpa Suede and Minky Cuddle.  One size will fit your newborn all the way up to your preschooler, so you’ll get your money’s worth using it year after year.

Lately, my daughters have been struggling because I put them in their car seats all bundled up and they feel like their seatbelts are too tight, so I am always having to adjust their seatbelts to accommodate what they are wearing.  Little did I know that I am putting my girls at risk by leaving their coats on because coats add a lot of slack, reducing the level of protection in a crash.  Had I known I was putting my girls lives in danger, I would have NEVER kept them bundled up!

The Baby Capes have come to the rescue of our children providing a warm, cozy solution.  Once you have removed all of the thick extra clothing from your child and fastened them into their car seat, you just slip the Baby Cape over your child’s head and they are provided with a warm, cozy blanket like poncho.  There is a slit up the back of the Baby Cape that has snaps so that the back is open, not allowing any unwanted bulk.  The Baby Cape can also be used when wearing a carrier to provide warmth to your little one when a coat just won’t do.

I highly recommend Baby Capes for all moms looking to keep their children safe and warm this winter!
